Celebrate Life’s Big Moments at Valley View Farm

Just 2.5 miles west of downtown Lewisburg, West Virginia, Valley View Farm blends rich history with modern charm. Family-owned and operated for seven generations, this 900-acre farm has been a beloved part of Greenbrier County since 1826, when it was first purchased by David Tuckwiller.

Nestled in the scenic Richlands area, known for its fertile farmland, the property tells the story of West Virginia’s heritage—once a stagecoach stop and tavern, the site of a Civil War skirmish, and home to award-winning Shorthorn cattle, champion draft horses, and the famous Wilson Turkeys.

Today, Valley View’s rustic red barn, built in 1950 in the classic Bank Barn style, has been transformed into a picturesque event and wedding venue. What started as a family gathering spot evolved into a favorite local destination for weddings, community events, and nonprofit fundraisers.

Come see why Valley View Farm has become Lewisburg’s go-to place to celebrate love, history, and community. Check out our latest photos and start imagining your event here!

Early Days at Valley View Farm

From 1941 to 1991, Valley View Farm was home to the beloved Wilson Turkey Farm, a proud chapter in Greenbrier County’s agricultural history.

Harvey and Edith Wilson launched the turkey business as a separate—but deeply connected—part of Valley View Farm, already known for its prized Shorthorn cattle.

Their story began with a trade: one Shorthorn heifer for their very first turkeys.

Together, the Wilsons built a thriving enterprise known for producing “the best turkeys in West Virginia.” After Harvey’s passing in 1970, Edith carried on the family legacy, running the bustling operation with dedication and heart. From 1987 to 1991, their eldest daughter, Genevieve Wilson Friedman, joined her mother to help continue the tradition.

Today, their story lives on through family photos, vintage newspaper clippings, magazine features, and essays that capture the spirit of hard work and community.
