San Francisco-based Claire and James’ modern ceremony took place in a field adjoining Valley View Farm’s main event area. Under an arch adorned with white hydrangeas and greenery from the farm, they exchanged vows surrounded by 210 family members and friends. About half of the guests were seated and half stood during in the twenty-minute ceremony officiated by Reverend Michael Crowley of New York City.
Guests arrived about half an hour before the ceremony, soaking in the breathtaking scenery while enjoying refreshments and snapping photos. Friends and family traveled from as far as Europe, India, New York, and California—including more than a hundred visitors experiencing West Virginia for the first time. Judging by the abundance of photos captured before, during, and after the ceremony, they were captivated by the state’s stunning landscapes and the timeless charm of Valley View. It truly proved to be the ultimate destination wedding setting.
After the ceremony, the guests followed the bride and groom down to the Barn for a reception full of local flavors.
